Your cat may sometimes look like its mind has wandered or that it is daydreaming, but it is actually “tuning in and listening” to sounds that are obviously outside of the frequencies that you can hear.

Low and high pitched frequencies are the ones your cat and other animals like dogs, can hear but your ears hear nothing.

Your cat will tune into a sound it is picking up on the low or high frequency and it will just listen in, it is something that has caught your cat’s interest, so leaving it alone when it appears to be focusing is probably a good idea.

Stalking….it’s all about stalking the potential prey.

Even if your cat is only stalking a toy, it is still working out those predatory instincts and it will be an excellent pastime for your cat.

Your cat can only get so much use from a sparkly little ball that it can swat around on the floor, it needs more challenges and anything that can move independently would be the best.

If a toy zig-zags around crazily, this is also a great choice because your cat cannot anticipate where it is going to go and this is a bit more mental stimulation for your cat, which is good.
