6:19 AM Your Iguana's Habitat |
Choose a glass tank for your iguana to retain heat. Make sure the lid to your iguana’s habitat is secure to keep your iguana from escaping and keep other animals from injuring your iguana. Line the habitat with newspaper, indoor/outdoor carpeting or commercially available products specifically for iguanas. Do not use wood shavings, gravel or soil. Provide your iguana with branches to climb on, boxes to climb on and rocks to keep nails trim. Plants can add ambience but know that iguanas will eat them too. Be sure all plants in the habitat are non-toxic. Add enough fun things to your iguana’s habitat to keep it busy but not so many that it becomes difficult to move around freely. Add white and UV lighting to the habitat to keep your iguana warm and allow it to produce vitamin D. Learn more from your Myakka, FL veterinary clinic. |
