Ticks are a nuisance no matter what type of pet you have. Ticks are even little pests for your Brown Velvet chinchilla. That’s right, even with their thick fur, the Brown Velvet is not immune to tick invasions. In fact, ticks tend to chomp on in your Brown Velvet chinchilla’s stomach area where the fur is less and not as thick. From there, the ticks tend to travel throughout the rest of the chinchillas body causing irritating bites. If you find a tick on your Brown Velvet, make sure you remove it thoroughly. Always be sure to pull all of the tick out especially the head. Leaving in parts of a tick can cause infection. If you don’t know how to remove a tick, just give your vet Scottsdale, AZ a call for assistance. Don’t forget to check your chinchilla’s habitat and the rest of your home for additional ticks.
