Cats suffering from motion sickness can develop digestive distress while inside a moving car, or when traveling by air or boat.  

In addition to vomiting, affected cats may also drool heavily, vocalize, commit potty accidents, become nervous, and may exhibit subdued behavior.

Here are some tips to help deal with your cat’s motion sickness problem:

• Introduce the crate or carrier to your cat. Place it in the room where your pet spends a good part of the day. Entice him to investigate and spend time inside the carrier by placing some of his favorite treats and toys inside.
• When he’s accustomed to being inside the crate, let your cat spend time inside the carrier while in the car, at first without the motor running. If there is no display of anxiety, try turning on the engine and keep a close eye on your pet’s reaction. This can then be followed by short trips down the street or around the neighborhood. Playing some soothing music has been shown to create a more positive environment inside the car.
