When dogs shed, they can cover furniture, carpet, and clothing with hair. In addition, painful mats can develop if you don’t properly groom your dog. What is the best brush to get at a dog’s undercoat?
Dogs with a fluffy bottom coat need a little extra care. Although their extra coat makes them fluffy and soft, the fine hairs in the undercoat often get trapped, causing mats. The best brush to use is a fine toothed, sturdy metal comb.
These combs don’t cover a large surface area, but they do a great job of getting down near the skin. It’s a good idea to brush your dog often if you are using one of these combs since it takes a bit longer.
If your dog has matting or you simply prefer to have a professional groom your dog, call your vet Walnut for recommendations.

Your bird’s cage is where she will spend the majority of her time, so you want to make sure you choose an option that will be comfortable for her. One of the main concerns when it comes to choosing a cage is size. Generally speaking, there is no limit to how large a cage should be, but you will need to make sure you don’t choose a cage that is too small.
Your pet should have plenty of room to move about and play, in addition to taking part in other activities, like eating. Be sure that it latches securely and your pet can’t sneak out of it. You’ll also wan a cage that is easy to clean. Since your pet’s living environment makes a big difference in her overall health, you want to be able to keep it neat and tidy. It is a requirement in most states for both dogs and cats to be vaccinated for rabies; however, specific laws differ from place to place. If you’re not sure if your cat needs to be vaccinated, call your veterinary clinic Matthews to find out what the laws are for your particular region. Although some laws are lenient for cat vaccinations, it is widely recommended that both indoor and outdoor cats be vaccinated.
Rabies is a viral disease that is often transmitted through saliva. Vaccinating your cat can help protect him should he accidentally come in contact with an infected animal. Initial vaccines are given yearly and are most often followed up by a three-year vaccine. Your vet will be able to explain the pros and cons of the rabies vaccination and whether or not your cat needs to be vaccinated. Call your veterinarian today for more information!

There's nothing quite like cuddling up with a purring feline. Many believe cats purr to indicate they are in a good mood - and sometimes that's true. But your veterinarian will tell you your cat purrs for other reasons, too. If your cat is stretched out in a strip of sunlight coming through the window and is purring, you can probably assume she's content. But if she's purring, pacing and intermittently meowing, it could very well mean she's hungry. Excessive purring can also indicate your feline friend is in pain.
Some veterinarians suggest purring is a way cats can calm themselves when they're hurting. Also, purring can ease breathing and lessen pain for cats. If you notice your cat purring more than usual but not looking content, examine her to make sure she shows no outward signs of injury. If you can't see anything but the excessive purring continues, it might be a good idea to consult your Vancouver veterinarian. To read more about cat health

If you keep chickens, you know how quickly they can get dirty. Unfortunately, bathing chickens is easier said than done.
There’s no need to bring your chickens indoors, as they’re likely to make an even bigger mess, but that means you’ll have to keep an eye on the weather. Choose a warm, sunny day so your chickens don’t get chilled.
Prepare three tubs or buckets. In the first, put Ivory Liquid soap and Mule Team Borax in warm water. Fill the second bucket with clean water and make up a vinegar and water mixture in the third bucket.
Submerge the first chicken’s body in the first bucket, keeping its head and face dry. Do not scrub. Simply plunge your bird up and down in the bucket. Then, repeat with the next two buckets. Towel drying is a good idea to prevent your bird from getting dirty again.

Cats can be a real nuisance as they often like to keep their owners up at night. Here are some ways you can get your cat to sleep better when it’s bedtime.
Make sure your cat gets fed right before sleep. Some pet parents even warm up a saucer of milk for their furry friend. Just make sure you choose an organic milk and stop giving it to your cat if he develops diarrhea.
Play with your cat before bedtime. If your cat has had a chance to burn off some of his excess energy, he will sleep much better at night.
Develop a routine and stick to it so your cat knows it’s time for bed. Go to bed at the same time each night and create the same environment regarding lights and electronics.
If your cat is still bugging you at night, schedule an appointment with your vet Oakdale.
