Gerbils are social animals and are happiest when they are kept in pairs; they don’t thrive well being alone in their enclosure. Studies have shown that gerbils raised alone tend to have shorter life spans and are more difficult to tame. These lone gerbils are also less friendly.

When gerbils are housed together, they enjoy the same activities and may even groom each other. It is best to house them together while they are still young, so they will get along well regardless of sex.

However, if you don’t want more gerbils, avoid housing the same sex together. Gerbils are monogamists, thus they chose one mate for life. They are usually aggressive with newcomers especially if they are not given enough time to adjust to each other’s presence.

If your pet dog stays outside most of the time, flea control may be a challenge to deal with. You can use flea control products formulated to eliminate different life stages of fleas; however, this is just a temporary solution. If your house or yard is heavily infested with fleas, you will also need to treat your dog’s environment. Doing so can also protect you from flea bites which can be very itchy and bothersome.

If your dog is hypersensitive to flea bites, it may need antihistamines to neutralize the effect. Dry cat food is basically something your cat chews up, swallows, and then passes it along to its litter box. The same process is apparent for moist cat food, but with one massive difference. Your cat actually absorbs the proteins and nutrients while digesting them.

A cat’s digestive system and overall good health are not designed to take any proteins or nutrients from dry food…it just does not digest the same (forget mixing the two together, nothing changes). Cats need a great deal of protein in their diet daily, and if it is not getting it, it does show.

A lack of nutrients and protein in a cat’s diet shows on its fur coat. If it is shiny and vibrant, its diet is good. If it is dull and dirty-looking, it is lacking a proper diet.
