Dry cat food is basically something your cat chews up, swallows, and then passes it along to its litter box. The same process is apparent for moist cat food, but with one massive difference. Your cat actually absorbs the proteins and nutrients while digesting them.
A cat’s digestive system and overall good health are not designed to take any proteins or nutrients from dry food…it just does not digest the same (forget mixing the two together, nothing changes). Cats need a great deal of protein in their diet daily, and if it is not getting it, it does show.
A lack of nutrients and protein in a cat’s diet shows on its fur coat. If it is shiny and vibrant, its diet is good. If it is dull and dirty-looking, it is lacking a proper diet.
A lazy or un-energetic cat has a poor diet and will eventually become ill.
