As far back as before dogs were even domesticated, this avid instinct to poop far away from its food source and its den, was already instinctual.

You have to look twice at what your cat is holding in its mouth and you immediately realize that it is a very dead-looking mouse. If your cat actually brought this to you to see, then this is very important. Your cat is showing off is reward from “the hunt” as if you were its superior cat.

It is hard to imagine that rubbing your dog vigorously with shampoo and then again to dry it with a towel would cause your dog pain, but it does.

Rubbing a short-haired dog extensively actually jams the hairs and they go under the skin like splinters (and people know what splinters of wood in their body feel like).
