Flea and Tick Prevention for Bearded Collies

Do you own a dog like the Bearded Collie? If so, then you may have heard about the importance of placing your dog on a monthly flea and tick prevention program. Contact your vet to learn about the numerous options available for your collie. Fleas and ticks are not only a nuisance, but they can also be dangerous. These tiny pests can carry a variety of diseases. If you find a flea or tick on your dog, remove it right away. Combing through your collie’s coat with a fine tooth comb may help with fleas. Ticks can be trickier as they are often embedded in your dog’s skin. It is very important to make sure the entire tick is removed, especially the head. If you need assistance or are unsure you removed the entire tick, please call your vet Fox Chapel, PA. The best form of protection is prevention. To learn more, click here.
