3:29 AM Calming a new pet's nerves |
Your pet can get frightened sometimes, and this is natural. She is inclined to protect herself, and feeling fear and fleeing from it is one way that animals are able to get themselves out of harm’s way. However, she may sometimes be afraid of things she doesn’t need to be, like loud noises within your home or new situations she hasn’t experienced before. To help your pet calm down, let her know she doesn’t have anything to fear. She trusts you, so seeing that you are comfortable in the situation is important. Talk in a soothing voice and pet her to help reassure her of her safety. Think about offering her an item that she is familiar with to help add to her comfort.
