3:38 AM Californian Rabbits and Ticks |
Did you know that rabbits like the Californian rabbit can be prone to ticks just like cats, dogs and other small pets? If you find a tick on your Californian rabbit then you may want to call your vet and ask for tips on how to remove the tick. If you find bites on your rabbit that could be from a tick, give your vet a call as well. Your Californian may have a tick bite or it could be a sting or bite from another insect or pest. Your vet should be able to help pinpoint the bite and identify its source. If it is a tick, you will need to conduct a thorough search for additional ticks on your rabbit. Ticks tend to prefer latching on to a rabbit’s ears, neck and on the dewlap of female rabbits. After removing the tick, your veterinary clinic Coon Rapids, MN may recommend a topical cream for the bite. For more information, please contact your Northbrook Animal Hospital, MN.
