If you’re looking for a pint size pup that’s full of energy, great with kids, affectionate, and ready for action then you might want to consider the Beagle. The Beagle is a true hound dog. This breed was popular in the middle ages, the Renaissance and even in ancient Roman times. The Beagle received his name from the French word “begueule” which means “open throat.” The name comes from the Beagle’s exceptional vocal chords that enables him to bark in three different ways including a regular bark, a howl, and bawl or bay sound that he usually makes while on the hunt. Apartment life is not recommended due to the Beagle’s loud and excessive barking. The Beagle is a very loving breed and does well with people of all ages especially children. He requires lots of exercise and a fenced in yard is a plus! Contact your vet Newmarket, ON to learn more. |
