When dealing with electrical shock, always remember NOT to put yourself at risk. Electricity can cause the cats to have muscular spasms causing the jaws to clamp tightly around the electrical cables as the cat twitches or move around. If you touch your kitty at this time, the live current may still be present and you may also have an electrical shock. To prevent further problems, make sure there is no more electricity by turning off any possible electricity source before attempting to touch your kitty. You can simply switch off the socket or turn off the main supply. If this is not possible, try breaking the contact between your kitty and the live current using a plastic or wooden pole to push away the source, or the source away from your pet.
