We love our cats, but when it comes to choosing between them and keeping our furniture looking nice things can get complicated. If you own a cat like the Manx or other breed that has the bad habit of scratching up your furniture, talk with your vet or pet store associate to learn ways to stop the behavior before it becomes a bad habit. One method is placing scat mats on your sofa and loveseats. The mats send small electric pulses through the mats when your cat touches them. For tables and chairs, try spraying a no-chew spray to irritate your Manx when she’s nearby. In addition, change up your cat’s routine. Some cats scratch at furniture out of boredom or for attention. Try taking your Manx out for a walk, giving her a new toy to play with and spending more time with her before and after going out. For additional suggestions, talk wi

Most animals and people snore. Why they snore can be for very different reasons. In many common cases of snoring the nasal passageways are momentarily blocked causing the air to vibrate when going out giving off the snoring noise. You can often preposition your sugar glider while he’s sleeping to see if this stops the snoring. If it doesn’t, monitor your sugar glider and determine if he’s snoring every time he’s asleep or just on occasion. It’s probably a good idea to call your vet and schedule a checkup as well. Your sugar glider is most likely fine, but just in case he is sick with a respiratory problem, have your vet check him. If the snoring is causing your sugar glider to wake up and preventing him from a sound sleep, call your vet as well. For more details on snoring and ways to help your sugar glider sleep and breath better, consult with your veterinarian Louisville, CO

A lot of different kinds of pets can help eliminate loneliness. However, some people believe that some animals are better than others. Guinea pigs get a particularly bad rap, but they can stave off loneliness too.
The biggest thing guinea pigs have going for them is the ability to communicate verbally. Dogs and cats have nothing on the range of noises a guinea pig can make! Living in a house with a little critter that makes gentle cooing noises, squeaks, and squawks reminds you that you aren’t alone.

This can be a tough question to answer. If you’re looking to buy or adopt a rabbit and give him to someone for Christmas, you should make sure that person has the time and finances needed to care for a pet. In addition, does that person have any allergies? Do they have a place in the home or outside the home to keep the rabbit? Your gift should probably include a cage, food, treats, bedding, water bowl, food bowl, etc. since the individual may not have these items on hand. If you’re buying for a child, ask the parents first. Children make great pet owners, but they need adult supervision and assistance when caring for the pet. If you’re not entirely sure about the idea, wait until after Christmas and think it over some more. If you need additional help, talk with your vet Aurora, CO. Do you love to spoil your guinea pig with all kinds of gifts and treats just because? If so, then you’ll probably be buying him a Christmas present this year as well. If you’re looking for ideas just check out your local pet store. Around this time of year, pet stores like to bundle pet items into nice decorative packages and place them on sale. It’s a great time to shop. Need bedding or hay for your cavy’s cage? You’ll probably find it in holiday wrapping ready to go from the store to under the tree. Since it’s Christmas, purchase your cavy a new treat that he hasn’t had before. Treat sticks are a big hit with the little guys. They usually come in multi-packs and multi-flavors including apple. Little beds, igloo houses, and toys also make great presents. For more ideas, talk with your best veterinary clinic Aurora, CO.

Cats can snore for the same reasons that humans snore. The air movement in the nasal passages or the throat is blocked causing the snoring sound. If your cat snores, try repositioning her to see if that helps. Sometimes cats will snore simply because of the way they are sprawled out and sleeping. You could also try adding a humidifier to the room to help bring moisture to the nasal passages and decrease the snoring. Breeds like the Persian that have short noses are often prone to snoring because of the restricted nasal passages. Snoring could be caused by underlying health conditions as well. For instance, obesity, sleep apnea, abscessed teeth are just a few illnesses that can lead to snoring. Viral and bacterial infections or colds can also cause snoring. In each of these instances, the snoring should be treated by a vet. If you have questions about your cat snoring, talk with your veterinary clinic Aurora, CO.<
