Senior or geriatric ferrets have special needs and requirements for their health. The average lifespan of ferrets is between 5-7 years, and serious health problems can start to take place as early as 3-4 years old. At this age, a ferret is now classified as a senior.

In order to deal with the changes that take place with aging, senior ferrets have special nutritional needs—a diet high in high protein and fat coupled with less treats and frequent feedings. Their diet should be composed of 30-40% protein of animal origin. Ferrets also have a specific need for linolenic, linoleic, and arachidonic fatty acids. The fat content of their ration should be between 18-30%. As your pet ferret ages, any dietary deficiency become more distinct, and as his appetite may decrease, malnutrition may become a primary concern.

The fun one can have when there is an exotic pet monkey in the house can go over-the-top sometimes. Your cat is not the only cat to be found in amazingly crazy positions when it decides to conk out and take a quick cat nap (usually during the daytime).

Most cats (because of their flexible spine and lack of a collar bone) are able to extend themselves out in to what appears to be very uncomfortable positions (to people) and can pull a chuckle or two from their owners.

This is not a breed specific oddity or just restricted to weird cats, this is one of many things that all cats share and it can be just funny enough to end up being a video posted on the internet for everyone to enjoy.

Sometimes, cats will get into cute positions when they want a nap and will actually snuggle up to another pet or to a stuffed toy as a means of comfort and safety. These moments also make for great pictures or videos. Pay this website for the vet Jensen Beach a visit if you would want to know more.

It really is not a secret, your dog’s nose & nostrils are made up of tiny layers of bone inside that is called conchae and it does provide a very odd feeling to the touch.

The conchae is like a little coat of armour for your dog’s nose and nostrils, protecting them to a small degree from injury, as a dogs nose and its sense of smelling is so much a part of your dog’s ability to survive.

This would be one of those “wonders of nature” if you consider how intricate and thin the layers of bone are to produce a stronger shield for one of the main senses. The veterinarian Jensen Beach’s website, located here, can open you up to a vast wealth of do ... Read more »
