There are some people that believe that it is not dogs that have behavioural problem, but rather, the dog owners who refuse to conform themselves around their dogs. This is a fine line that has and always will be up for debate. A dog is an animal that intricately utilizes both instincts that it is born with, and the training its owner has applied. The balancing of the two is very tricky for a dog, but it proves that they are quite intelligent.

Dogs that are pets are constantly faced with situations every day that put it to the test. Its instincts tell it one thing, but it has been trained to deal with something another way, and so starts the mental battle. The behaviour that results in these mental wars for your dog is not a behavioural problem…it’s a matter of which side wins.

The birth of a litter of kittens is amazing to witness. It is hard to believe such tiny creatures will grow into full-sized cats. Kittens are about the size of an adult mouse when born and it takes approximately two weeks before they even open their beautiful eyes. As the kittens are able to move around a little more at three weeks. They are still “finding their legs”.

After four weeks, the kittens are now roaming around freely, exploring their environment and wandering away further from the security of their mother, but still going back to the mother to eat. At five weeks old, the kittens are exploring even further away from their mother, climbing up on things, investigating toys and rough-housing with each other. At five weeks, kittens can be started on cat foods (moist) and trained for the litter box.
