People that are attracted to exotic pets are usually drawn to the more dangerous ones, like primates, snakes, and felines.

Besides the fact that you could be harmed physically through being mauled, bitten, or knocked down…there are some other facts to consider.

You do have to be concerned with some exotic pets that could transmit salmonella poisoning or venomous bites, Snakes are known to constrict (coil their body around) their owners out of a sense of dominance (not because they want to eat its owner…usually).

If you are determined to get an exotic pet, know ahead of time that if you do get hurt, you cannot just release it, hoping it won’t hurt anyone else and finds its way back to the wild.

You should consider ALL of this beforehand when choosing an exotic pet.

Dogs react to loud noises as if it is almost painful for them, which is almost exactly what happened.

A sharp, loud sound like a balloon popping unexpectedly, is startling to a person, but traumatizing to a dog.

Machines, alarms or any of the thousands of sounds that can be heard daily by people is much more intense to a dog. People can reason out and anticipate certain sounds (two cars crashing into each other, for instance). People know in advance there will be very loud noises from two cars colliding into each other, but a dog cannot anticipate the noise these two cars will make.

Dogs are not necessarily startled by loud noises, but it does catch them off-guard and may even hurt their ears permanently.

There are different designs of litter box for pet cats— ranging from simple open trays to covered boxes. Whatever design you may choose, there is one thing you ought to keep in mind—be sure that the litter box has adequate space for your pet cat to perform instinctive behavior associated with elimination such as sniffing the litter, digging and turning around several times before doing his business.

A low box is ideal if you have a kitten, so he can easily get in and out. Later on, you can exchange it to a litter box with higher sides as your pet grows up.

Covered litter boxes offer the following benefits:
