Here are some basic restraining methods that you can use to keep a tight rein on a pet that’s fond of chasing:

Train your pooch to focus on you

Getting your dog’s attention and keeping it, is important. You need to show your pet you are the alpha leader and you are in control of the situation. Before taking a walk, make sure to catch his attention.

The Maltese is considered one of the most intelligent toy dog breeds. This highly feisty bundle of fur can be a perfect pet for people living in apartments and also families with children. The breed is said to come from the island of Malta and is often well thought-out as among the oldest dog breeds. The average height of Maltese ranges from 8-10 inches while the average weight is between 3-4 kilograms. The breed’s hair coat is composed of a silky single layer which is colored white or light ivory. When the hair is allowed to grow long, it will hang on each side of the center line without any curls or waves.

The long coat of the Maltese needs daily combing and brushing to keep it soft and free from tangles. Regular shampoo and bathing should be undertaken but make sure that your pet is thoroughly toweled dry and kept warm afterwards.
