The Oriental Fire-Bellied Toad, also referred to as Oriental Bell Toad, can grow to a length of about 2 inches. They come from China, Russia, and Korea. There are also Fire-Bellied toads from Europe and North Africa. Four toads can be housed comfortably in a 10-gallon vivarium fitted with a screen top. Many pet owners choose to have 6 or more toads for a better visual appeal. The easiest vivarium setup to maintain includes a gravel bed shoreline, and a combination of shallow water and land. The substrate simulates the shoreline of a pond or stream. You can add some wood and small pebbles along the edge of the water to hold the gravel in place while adding to the enclosure’s visual appeal. Light in the vivarium can be provided by one or two bulbs that runs the length of the tank. Water in this type of vivarium must be changed at least once a week. The gravel must be flushed thoroughly at least once a month. Make sure the water has been purified before being added to the tank. The tank water temperature must be maintained at 68-80°F.
