6:01 AM Dog Adoption - First Few Weeks At Home |
As your new pet gradually settles down in his new home, you need to start establishing important regimens that will include feeding, potty schedules, and physical activity. Your pooch also needs time alone away from the pack. A crate can serve as a den where he can go to when he wants to take a break from the household activities. Positive reinforcement is also important so he will know you are pleased with his behavior. Your new pet should never be exposed to too much excitement (such as meeting the neighborhood kids or visiting the dog park) during his first few days in your home. Remaining calm and quiet around him will allow him to settle in easier; you should also spend more time interacting with him to get to know your new pet including his likes and dislikes. If you are having problems with your pet’s behavior, talk with a Puyallup vet. Find out more from this link. |
