It is surprising how many cat owners are not aware of how deadly chicken bones can be to dogs and cats.

Chicken bones, when chewed up, splinter into very sharp pieces and can cut into your cat’s throat or be swallowed in splinters, which can cause your cats death.

This is also true for dogs.

Skip giving your drooling cat a piece of chicken off of your own plate unless you are absolutely sure it has not even the most minuet sliver of bone in it.

Your cat will welcome a piece of chicken from you, it tastes great (people food usually does) and it is loaded with protein, which is something your cat needs a lot of daily.

Raw chicken is even better for your cat, the protein count is higher and it tastes even better to your cat unless you have it trained to only get cooked meats. You can go ahead and head to this website for the veterinary clinic Fayette County if you are curious about learning mo ... Read more »

An herb garden is sometimes grown inside a cat owner’s home (or at least attempted to be grown), but only usually lasts until the cat locates it. Cats have a natural instinct to eat grass or plants to promote the removal of fur balls, and an herb garden would be perfect for a cat to do such a thing.

If mint is being grown, then your cat will most likely attack that first. Catnip comes from the mint family of herbs and is highly intoxicating to your cat. The only way a cat owner can successfully grow herbs in the home is to place the plants in an area that has a door that can be shut, locking the cat out of that particular room.

Your cat is clever, so you will need to outsmart it when it comes to growing ANY plants inside your home. If you want to head to this site of the veterinarian Aurora to learn more, then do so. You won’t r ... Read more »

Did you know that your dog is a compass that can always find north? It is true! Dogs seem to know about the medical benefits of sleeping with their head facing north. Dogs have been doing the “circle three times to find north, then lay down” thing since before they became domesticated. They kept that instinct and still use it to this very day.

There are (proven) medical benefits to sleeping with the head facing north. The result is a deeper, more relaxed sleep. This goes for people and all animals, but dogs seem to be the only animals that visibly show itself finding north before it lays down to sleep. If you would like to learn more about this, visit this site of the veterinary clinic Aurora CO.

Your cat is very clever. Already it has figured out that the carrying cage equals a trip to the veterinarian’s. After your cat associates that trip with its carrying cage, getting your cat into it will be a nightmare.

You can outsmart your cat, however, with one little proven-to-work trick, and the sooner you try it, the better. Place the carrying cage in your living room (usually the most-used room in your home), and leave the door wide-open. A little blanket or towel would make a nice bed, so place it into the carrier, ensuring the whole bottom of the carrier is covered. Now for the “outsmart manoeuver”. From now on, only give your cat its catnip INSIDE the cage! ALWAYS LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN and sprinkle catnip inside the cage, on top of the blanket. Do this once or twice a week and your cat will not be able to resist going inside the cage.
