9:36 PM Your Dog and the Car |
Some dogs are very comfortable riding in the car while others are quite fearful. You will need to take your dog in the car to go to the vet, the pet store or even just for a ride. Thus acclimating him to the car is necessary. Protect your dog at all times while he is in the car. A nervous dog may relax ina crate while in the car. Secure the crate so it doesn’t slide around or turn over while you are driving. Acalm dog may sit quietly on the seat. However, secure your dog with a car harness or the seatbelt so he doesn’t disrupt your driving. The safest place for your dog is the back seat. Don’tlet your dog wander around the car.Don’t let him hang his head outside the window. He could be injured by excess wind or debris. For more information, contact your Carmel, IN veterinarian. |
