7:14 PM Treating your Cat’s Litter Box for Fleas and Ticks |
If your cat is infested with fleas and ticks then you will need to treat him and his litter box and bed for fleas and ticks. If you simply treat your cat then the fleas and ticks will come back as they may be in the litter box and bedding. The first thing you need to do is treat your cat for fleas and ticks. Your vet may recommend a flea dip or simply prescribe a flea and tick preventative medication. Follow your vet’s instructions for treatment and then go home and treat your cat’s litter box and bedding too. Dump the litter box and wash it even if you just cleaned it. Place all new fresh cat litter in the box. Make sure you clean and vacuum the area around the litter box. Wash your cat’s bedding. If it’s not washable, your Chattanooga, TN veterinarian may suggest throwing it in the dryer on high heat for 10 minutes. Visit their homepage for additional information and advice. |
