Your cat may bite or scratch another pet or you occasionally. These attacks may seem completely unprovoked but are most likely in response to a frightening experience. She may have seen a cat outside a window, heard a loud noise or got her tail stepped on. Isolate your cat after such an attack. Consider wrapping her in a towel while moving her to avoid continued injury. Leave your cat in the room alone and listen for growling or hissing. Don’t enter the room until you feel your cat has calmed down. Talk to her in a happy, gentle tone. Offer her a treat. Don’t pick her up or pet her. Let your cat come to you when she is ready.
