6:39 AM Thunderstorms and your dog |
Your dog is a wonderful little fur ball, and he really likes being independent when he is feeling confident in himself. However, he tends to want some reassurance during thunderstorms. Why is this? Your pet is used to being safe within your home, but he still has a lot of self-preservation instincts he inherited from his wild ancestors. This is because he needs to be able to understand what threats are around him so he can address how to handle them. Thunder is loud and sounds very threatening. Since he can’t figure out where the noise is coming from, your pet stays in a period of high alert, unsure of what to do. Help him calm down by reassuring him of his safety and giving him something else to focus on. For more information, please contact your local veterinarian Crown Point IN. |
