3:49 AM Sneezing in Cats |
In general, sneezing in cats is not something to be worried about, however, if it is persistent and is accompanied by other symptoms, it is recommended that your have your cat checked out by your Temecula, CA veterinarian. Aside from a thorough physical exam, you will be asked about your pet’s medical history. If it is caused by an infection, the cat may also have fever, loss of appetite, and possibly mouth sores. Sneezing may also be accompanied by nose and eye discharges. The discharge from the cat’s nose may be—purulent, clear (serous), bloody, or mucoid. If sneezing is caused by allergies, it is often accompanied by itching and constant rubbing of face and paws. Allergens are often high at certain seasons of the year causing frequent bouts of sneezing during these times. Sporadic bouts of sneezing can also be caused by hypersensitivity reactions to perfumes, dust, smoke etc. Read more for additional information. |
