The Beagle is a small sized hound dog and is a member of the scent hound family. He stands anywhere between 13 and 15 inches with some smaller. They typically weigh around 20 to 30 pounds sometimes less. The Beagle is known for his sturdy, solid build and his adorable hound face complete with large hazel hound eyes and long hound like ears. The Beagle comes in lemon, red and white and tri-colors. They are similar to basset hounds though much taller and more lean in the body. They often get confused with the Basset when they are smaller.
