Birds need baths. The best part is, you don’t have to bathe them! They don’t require soap. They just require some clean water to splash around in. The question is, should your bird be allowed to take a bath whenever he wants?

It doesn’t hurt to make sure your bird always has a bowl full of clean water in his cage. You just have to make sure that the bowl is large enough for him to fit in, and that he has a separate bowl to drink out of. You should plan on replacing the water daily, and don’t be surprised if there’s a large mess to clean up.

If you want to avoid the mess, bring your pet out of his cage to take a bath. You can do this every day or as little as once a week. Certain parrots actually like hopping in the shower!
