4:39 AM No Moldy Food for Ragdoll cats |
Although your Ragdoll cat may act like a garbage disposal and devour just about anything in sight, please do not feed him old or molded foods. Food that has gone bad and even molded can produce dangerous toxins like tremorgenic mycotoxins. If ingested, these toxins could make your Ragdoll go into excessive body tremors or even convulsions. The toxins are often fatal. If your Ragdoll eats molded food call your vet immediately. Even if it’s just a little bit, call your vet to make sure your cat doesn’t need treatment. When throwing away old breads, cheeses and other rotten or molded foods, be sure the trash bag is sealed. If you toss it in the trash can, make sure a lid is covering it. If your cat likes to be outdoors, make sure he doesn’t go through outside trash. For more information about molded foods, please call your vet care Ellicott City, MD. |
