8:54 PM Moving Your Outdoor Cat Indoors |
Outdoor cats live significantly shorter lives than indoor cats. While outside, your cat could get lost, hurt in a fight with other animals or hit by a car. She could also be exposed to dangerous and deadly diseases. Thus the best thing for your outdoor cat is to move her to live indoors for good. Start by luring your cat into the house for mealtimes. Don’t force her to stay inside. Set up a litter box, eating/drinking station and a bed of her own. Give her some cozy window perches and toys. Play with your cat inside the house. Make it a fun and comforting place to be. Increase her inside time gradually. Try a few overnight stays. Then one day you decide she is inside for good. Secure the windows and doors so she can’t escape. And don’t forget to cuddle your cat. Contact your Sugar Land, TX veterinary clinic for additional information. Learn more here. |
