9:42 PM How to Get Your Rat’s Cage Super Clean |
If you change your rat’s bedding every week, you probably think you’re getting your pet’s cage clean. You are, to some extent, but every critter’s cage needs a deeper clean every so often. It’s important to wipe down the hard surfaces in the cage at least once a week. Dump out the substrate and use a pet-friendly cleaner to wipe away any excess messes. You probably notice that residue builds up on the cage over time. This is especially true if you have plastic platforms or a plastic basin. Once a month or so, you should plan to do a deep clean. This may require a heavy-duty scrubber, soap, and water. You should also wash the bars or sides of the cage. Cleaning the cage outside with a hose can help.
