4:48 AM How to Check your Dog for Ticks |
Tick season is coming up and may already have started in your area. It’s important to check your dog regularly for ticks. You should check your dog at least once a day. Ideally, you should check your dog for ticks each time he comes in from the outdoors especially if he was out for a long walk or out in a wooded area. To check your dog, simply take him to a well let area outside or inside our home. Use a comb or your fingers to comb through your dogs fur for a basic check. Spot check the areas most prone for ticks. For instance, look under the chin and on the chest. Feel for any kind of bumps which might be a tick. Pick up each paw and look between the paw pads and on the leg. Check your dog’s underbelly as well. For more tips, call your vet Plano, TX. |
