1:47 AM Does your Yorkie's Eye Appear to be Bulging? |
Canine eye injuries can be a common occurrence especially in smaller breeds such as the Yorkshire Terrier. If your Yorkie appears to have a swollen or injured eye, please contact your vet right away. In rare cases, your Yorkie’s injured eye may actually appear to be popping out the socket. This usually happens due to pressure build up behind the eye caused by an injury, trauma to the head, or other causes. The eye may even come out of the socket in severe injuries. If this happens, call the vet. Then, cover the eye with a damp, clean cloth and hold it in place with a loosely wrapped bandage around the head. If possible, soak the cloth in warm, salty water to help preserve the eye. If possible, your veterinary clinic Frisco, TX staff may recommend that you go to an emergency veterinary ophthalmologist or veterinary hospital for treatment. |
