Cleaning Your Albino Gerbil’s Cage

Did you know that you should clean your Albino gerbil’s cage once a week to keep him smelling and feeling fresh? If you have more than one gerbil, ask your vet how often you should clean the cage. In general, never go more than two weeks without cleaning the cage or else your Albino gerbil may start to stink. When cleaning your gerbil’s cage, make sure you remove him to a safe and secure location while you clean. Always save a small portion of the old bedding to mix in with the new so that your Albino gerbil will recognize his own scent and make himself at home. If the cage is particularly dirty or stained, use soap and water to wash it out. Use vinegar water to remove any lingering smells. Make sure the cage is completely dry. Call your pet clinic Greensboro, NC may recommend cleaning the food bowls and water bottle too.
