Your guinea pig shares your home with you, and you want her enclosure to be just as clean as the rest of your home. How can you make this happen?
It’s important to understand that your pet will make messes on a daily basis so you will need to tend to her cage on a daily basis as well. Make sure you are able to spot clean areas that need it, like where she eats and eliminates, since these can get dirty rather quickly. Your pet will also need you to clean everything out more thoroughly on a regular basis. This means replacing items that can’t be sanitized, like her bedding material, with new versions of the same and washing all the rest in warm soapy water, then reassembling everything once it’s been rinsed and had time to dry. One of the first things you can do to keep your bird cool is to place his cage out of direct sunlight and away from windows. Your bird’s cage can be in the vicinity of a window to give light and allow him to look out. However, if it’s next to the window then the heat from the sun that is absorbed by the window will make his cage too warm. Also, you may enjoy sitting under an A/C vent to stay cool, but this could make your bird too call too fast. Keep him out of drafty areas. Instead, to keep him cool, provide your bird with fresh cool water throughout the day. Feed him vet approved pieces of fruit. If your bird is overly warm, use a spray bottle set on ‘mist’ and gently spray a fine water mist over your bird. For more tips, ask your Tipp City, OH veterinary clinic team.

Your dog is an excellent companion and you want to make sure she is able to come with you on as many adventures out of the house as she can. This means taking the time to find her the right leash to keep her safe while away from home.
Your dog needs a leash that will keep her tethered to you, so make a point to find something strong enough and durable enough to make this happen. It should be an appropriate length for her training level as well as the area you are spending time in. make sure you choose a leash that will work with her collar or harness – whatever you will be hooking it to. This should be comfortable for you to hold as well, since you will need to handle the other end of the leash. For more information, please contact your local Brampton, ON veterinarian.

Your dog is a big part of your life and you love that you get to spend so much time together each and every day. You know that it’s time to officially start the training process with him. How should you go about choosing a training method?
There are several different training methods out there and it can seem a bit intimidating when looking at them all at once, particularly if you’ve never utilized any of them before. However, there will likely be some that fit your pet better than others so you will be able to quickly eliminate them. Seek out the method that will keep your pet as happy as he can be while training as you want him to stay motivated and excited to learn new skills. For more information, please contact your local Lakeville, MN veterinarian.

You have had a love of animals for a long time, but you haven’t had any pets of your own in a while. A friend has asked you to look after her pet while she is out of town for a few days. What should you know about doing so?
Every pet is different, so it’s important that you get specific instructions for caring for the animal in question. Even if you have cared for a pet like this before, this individual animal may need care that is a bit different. It’s important that you ask any questions you may have prior to your friend leaving, and that you make sure you have all the necessary pet supplies on hand to meet her pet’s needs. You should also make sure you have her contact information as well as her pet’s veterinarian’s information on hand in case you need them. For additional information, please contact your Diamond Bar, CA veterinarian.
