Rodents, even large ones like the guinea pig, require a significant amount of activity to meet their exercise requirements. In the wild, they cover a lot of ground each day to meet their basic survival needs. Since this activity is significantly lessened in the present day lifestyle of the domestic guinea pig, alternate means of exercise must be called upon. A wheel in your pet’s cage helps to get them moving, but shouldn’t be the only option for your pet.
