Your guinea pig needs access to fresh, clean water at all times. A water bottle works much better than a water bowl that can be tipped over or easily contaminated with droppings or soiled bedding. Choose a bottle that is large enough for your pet’s daily needs. This bottle should have a stainless steel sipper tube at the end with a ball bearing in it to keep it from leaking. Hang the water bottle from the side of the cage away from where your guinea pig primarily urinates. Hang it low enough that your guinea pig can reach it easily but high enough so that the sipper tube doesn’t touch the bedding. Watch the water level throughout the day and change the water completely daily. Scrub the bottle thoroughly with a bottle brush during your weekly cage cleaning.
