Do you have a primarily canine pet family? If so, have you ever thought or wanted to bring a feline into the home? If you are going to adopt or purchase a cat, take precautions when introducing your new cat to your dog family. For instance, have your cat and your dogs meet outside the home so neither one can claim any sort of territorial ownership of the home. When you take them home together, keep them separated and make sure they know which things belong to who. Slowly allow your cat to interact with your dogs for a few minutes at a time. When they feel comfortable enough and are not hissing or barking at one another, allow the cat longer time free roaming the house.
