If they become too watery or red, seek prompt medical attention. If you have a commercially available skunk cleanser handy, you can wash your dog with it. Otherwise, mix a quart of peroxide with a bit of dish soap and a ¼ cup of baking soda. Work this mixture into your dog’s fur and quickly rinse with fresh water so the solution doesn’t bleach your dog. Follow up with a regular dog shampoo bath.
