5:55 AM Your Chatty African Grey Parrot |
The African Grey Parrot can have a very long lifespan and live 50 to 70 years. Thus raising your African Grey is a long-term commitment where you need to provide continuous care, socialization and training. African Greys are talkative birds so with devoted care and training; your bird can be quite chatty. Your African Grey may mimic voices but it may also imitate household noises such as a ringing telephone, microwave ding or music. African Greys have impressive vocal abilities but they rarely make the screeching, loud noises other talking birds engage in so they are not as annoying. Your African Grey needs a devoted caretaker and someone who is willing to spend significant time training it. Do your research before committing to this breed. It is an important responsibility not to be taken lightly but a relationship with an African Grey can be very rewarding.
