8:49 AM Why Cats Lay on Their Back |
Cats are usually well composed, which means curling up on the couch or cat tree in a controlled and dainty way. However, cats have also known to lay on their backs too, although it does happen less often. A cat may go its whole life without ever laying on its back. That’s because cats only lay on their backs when they feel safe and happy. Exposing your belly in the wild is dangerous, so cats only expose their belly to let the other people and animals around them know that they are comfortable. You should feel honored that your cat is comfortable enough to expose his belly to you! Cats also lay on their backs because it feels good, but don’t assume that his position means he wants his belly scratched! To learn more, click here, or call your veterinary clinic Scottsdale, AZ. |
