10:27 AM Tips for Insulin Injections in Japanese Bobtails |
Insulin injections are one of the most popular forms of treatment available for cats with feline diabetes. If your Japanese Bobtail has been diagnosed with diabetes, talk to your vet to find out if insulin injections will be recommended. There are other medications available in pill form, but these are mostly for less advanced stages of diabetes. If you will be giving your bobtail insulin injections there are a few tips to remember to help with the process. First, do not reuse syringes. Never administer if there is an air bubble in the syringe. If you inject your bobtail on the right side one day then you should inject the left side the next day. If your cat does not cooperate, talk to your vet about making adjustments to the way you administer the injections. Always reward your cat with a treat afterwards.
