3:50 AM The American Eskimo |
Are you looking for a family dog in a small package? Check out the American Eskimo. This pint size pup has the appearance of a tough arctic sled pulling canine; however, he wasn’t bred to work. The American Eskimo, although a member of the Nordic canine family, was bred for companionship. The pup originated in Germany and was brought to the United States by immigrants. It’s originally name was a German phrase, but it was changed to “American” after entering the U.S. and picked up the name “Eskimo” from the name of the kennel where they were first raised in the U.S. The American Eskimo’s standard size is around 18 to 35 pounds and stand 15 to 20 inches in height. They can live anywhere from 13 to 15 years. The American Eskimo is an enthusiastic dog that is easy to train. He loves people and loves family life.
