Signs your Senior Kitty Is Slowing Down

Don’t be alarmed if you start to notice that your senior kitty is starting to slow down her pace. It’s common for older cats to change their habits and behaviors to suit their old age, sometime aching joints, and slower metabolism. If you’re cat changes suddenly and appears extremely lethargic and isn’t eating, this is different and you should call your vet and schedule a checkup right away. Normally, older cats will start to eat less and less, but they will not stop altogether. The same is true with drinking water. They will slow down, but not stop. If your cat stops eating and drinking, call your vet. Your older cat may also start sleeping more in the day and at night. She may not be as interested in playing and may even prefer more alone time than when she was younger. All of these are normal signs of aging. However, to be sure, call your veterinarian Greensboro, NC.
