5:07 AM My Pet Bird has Cleaner in his Eyes! |
Eye injuries in any type of pet can often go from minor to major in a matter of moments if the injury is not treated properly. Always call your vet Glendale, AZ if you notice your bird’s eyes are swollen, red, bulging or if your bird is squinting excessively or even has a watery discharge coming from his eye. Especially be cautious of cleaning around your bird’s habitat. If you are going to dust, vacuum, or use cleaning chemicals near your bird the best thing to do is remove your bird to a safe location away from the cleaning area. If your bird gets cleaner in his eyes, call your vet immediately. Your vet will most likely recommend that you flush your bird’s eyes with water or a sterile saline solution. Make sure you tell your vet exactly what your bird got in his eye and the chemicals involved. This could help with further treatment. |
