1:59 PM Is a Rabbit the Right Pet for You? |
Rabbits are more than fluffy balls of fun. Before bringing a rabbit into your house, be sure you are willing to dedicate the time needed to care for your rabbit. Besides supplying food, water and a clean cage, your rabbit will need grooming, exercise and mental stimulation. To keep a rabbit healthy they need daily, supervised time outside their cages. The cost of a large hutch plus food and bedding can add up over a bunny’s lifetime. Rabbits can live into their teens so they are a long-term commitment like a dog or cat. Rabbits don’t usually like to be picked up and can bite or scratch so they may not be the best pets for children. It is also hard for children to understand that even though a bunny might be close in size to a cat, bunnies don’t actually play with people. Learn more from your Carrollton, GA veterinarian. |
