11:26 AM I think my Silkie Guinea Pig’s Eye is Swollen |
Guinea pigs like the Silkie guinea pig breed can often get debris such as their food or bedding in their eyes. If this happens, their eye may swell up or get irritated. A swollen eye can also be a sign of something going on with your guinea pig’s overall health. Always call your vet as soon as you notice something wrong with your cavy’s eyes. Your vet may have you check your cavy’s eye for debris. If you see something that appears to be on the surface of the eye, you may be instructed to flush the eye with fresh water. If the object appears stuck in the eye, you will need to take your guinea pig into the office for the vet to examine him. If your guinea pig’s eye does not have debris in it; but instead, has a tear let your vet know immediately. Consult with your veterinary clinic Oshawa, ON for further instructions. Learn more here. |
