1:08 PM Feeding Sugar Gliders |
A nutritionally balanced diet is one of the basic needs of sugar gliders. In their natural environment, they depend on insects, pollens, and nectars for nourishment. Sugar gliders are prone to nutritional problems because of their special dietary needs that many owners fail to meet. If you have a sugar glider, you should make the effort to know more about your pet’s nutritional needs to support his health and wellbeing. Attempts have been made to mimic their natural diet so it would be commercially available. However, these attempts have not been successful. Animal nutritionists recommend that diets of sugar gliders should be composed of about 75% pellets. The 25% consists of fresh fruits and vegetables. Any fresh produce should be washed thoroughly before being placed in the sugar glider’s cage at night time. All leftovers should be removed in the morning to prevent spoilage.
