Traditionally cats are not fond of water but there are times when your cat gets into something stinky or sticky and you have to clean her. Ideally you can clean her with a damp washcloth or just wash a small portion of her. However, other times your cat will need a complete bath. Trim your cat’s nails to reduce the risk of injury if your cat lashes out at you. When you are ready to bathe your cat, act quickly and efficiently. Always keep one hand on your cat so she doesn’t try to escape. Wet your cat with lukewarm water using a small bowl since the sink sprayer may frighten her. Lather her up using cat-safe shampoo. Rinse her thoroughly, again with lukewarm water. Towel dry your cat and brush her to remove mats. Keep her warm as she dries completely.
