Are you a new owner of a purebred Dalmatian? If so, did you know that your pup should be registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC) if he’s not been registered already? Ask your vet to help determine the paperwork needed for registration and to provide as much of it as possible. Typically, purebred dogs are eligible for the American Kennel Club (AKC) association registration as long as his litter has been registered. If you purchase a dog under the assumption that it is a purebred dog then you should have received an individual dog registration application from the seller. You will need to complete the application and submit it to the AKC along with fees and any other requirements as outlined on the AKC website. Dogs can also be registered online. You should receive a registration certificate from the AKC in about three weeks. Talk with your veterinary clinic Livonia, MI to learn more. Visit website http://farmingtonveterinary.com

There’s nothing like prepping for a rabbit show only to find out an hour before your turn to show that your American Chinchilla rabbit has a poop stain or food stain on his coat. Chances are the stain was there from the beginning but you didn’t see it or you didn’t realize it didn’t wash away in the bath. Now you need to remove the stain and here’s a few tips on how you can do that. To remove stains from your rabbit’s coat, try using peroxide or white alcohol first. This particular method is most effective with food stains. If you’re not at a show, try using a waterless rabbit shampoo with a whitener. Spray the stain and use a towel to massage the fur. Towel dry and then re-brush when dry. You should repeat the process daily for the next few days. For more information, talk with your veterinary clinic Livonia, MI prior to starting the stain removal steps.

Some rabbit owners enjoy showing their rabbits in shows around the state and across the nation. If you’re interested in showing your American Chinchilla rabbit then there are a few things you need to know in advance. First, you should look for fellow rabbit owners in your area that are also showing their rabbits. They can help you get started in the show process. Second, attend a show first so you can get a firsthand look at the world of showing and decide if it’s the right fit for you and your rabbit. Use these shows as opportunities to meet with competitors, talk about the show process and even meet with judges and personnel that can give you additional show information. The American Rabbit Breeders Association hosts several shows throughout the year. You can learn more about these shows through their website or by talking with your local veterinary clinic Livonia, MI.
