1:28 AM Adjusting your Dog to a New Home |
If you are moving to a new home and you are (hopefully) bringing your pet with you, it’d be a wise idea to adjust them to their new home first, not just throw them in and expect them to cope. You know how, when you move your bed to another part of your room, you have a lot of trouble sleeping for a couple of days? Dogs are the same way. You’re taking your dog far away from its current home, where it much enjoys itself, and you are bringing it to a new home. The best thing to do would be to, for short intervals, bring your dog to the new house (or apartment) and let it walk around and explore everything for a while before heading back home. Doing this repeatedly will result in your dog not being as frightened and on-edge when arriving at the new home to stay.
